LAWRENCEVILLE, N.J. – West Chester scored two goals in the final 10 minutes of the game to pull off a come-from-behind victory over host Rider Wednesday afternoon in a non-league tilt.
Shelly Brooks and Jacki Eddy each scored a goal and picked up an assist in the Golden Rams’ first win of the season. The two tallies erased a 1-0 halftime deficit.
Brooks evened the score at the 60-minute mark off a high lob from Eddy in the corner. She then returned the favor with just three minutes left in the contest, setting up Eddy for the game-winner.
West Chester (1-1) outshot Rider (0-1) by a 14-10 margin. Goalkeeper Joelle Zarefoss recorded six saves while Broncs’ keeper Jennifer LoCastro registered nine.
The Golden Rams return to West Chester for their home opener on Sunday afternoon with a 12 p.m. start against Lehigh.
